I recently graduated Magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education: Middle School.

I am currently seeking a full-time teaching position in a middle school as a science teacher. While seeking full-time employment, I am working as a substitute teacher in the Charleston and Mattoon school districts. I am willing to relocate for a teaching position.

Vision
The students will gain knowledge of the curriculum and build a skill set that will aid them in any discipline. They will acquire the ability and talent to meet the challenges of school, work, and everyday life.

Mission
The students will achieve success through the creation of a challenging and safe learning environment that will encourage success through the implementation of various teaching styles. The curriculum will be taught through many hands-on activities where the students become active in the educational process. The students self-esteem will be fostered through a caring and supportive environment through respectful relationships with other students and educators.

Philosophical Position
The student should not simply be handed the knowledge but work and seek to find information through a process of discovery. Providing hands-on activities allows students to discover the material for themselves in a way that they find interesting and relevant. The curriculum should be focused on engaging the student rather than attempt to mold the student to the curriculum. A proper classroom is one where the students feel safe and are comfortable. This allows for more class participation and fosters healthy self-esteem. The teachers role in the classroom is not to be looked at as the sole source of information, but as a leader and guide that will assist the students in finding multiple sources of information and perspectives.
